Your first visit to our Burlington dental office starts with a conversation. Dr. Jared Nabeta or Dr. Kaitlin McCann reviews your headache history, how often headaches happen, your triggers and previous treatments. Treatment for migraine is considered only when migraine has been diagnosed by your physician, and we coordinate with your physician.
A very fine needle is used at set sites on the forehead, temples, back of the head, neck and shoulders. You may feel a brief pinch or pressure at each site.
YOUR FIRST VISIT, STEP BY STEP
- Review of your health history and your physician diagnosis.
- Examination of the jaw, head and neck muscles.
- Discussion of the risks, alternatives and what to expect, and your consent.
- Treatment, only if you decide to proceed.
- A follow-up visit to review how you are doing.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR INJECTIONS
You can usually return to your normal routine the same day. Mild tenderness or slight bruising at the injection sites can occur and usually settles within a few days. Other possible side effects are reviewed with you before treatment.
